Abbie Tong

I started my hairdressing career relatively late in comparison to others. 

I qualified top of my class in the UK in 2013 and immediately left to work in New Zealand at a well known salon in Wellington.

During my time there i got involved in the creative world of New Zealand hairdressing. I have been very fortunate to assist at Wellington Fashion Week, be part of the creative team for the Air New Zealand 75th Anniversary show in 2014 and have my work reach finalist stages of industry awards. 

I have an editorial portfolio that boasts collaborative work with Amelia Boland, Ricochet and some smaller boutique clothing brands. 

In 2015 my partner (now husband) Matt and I purchased So You Hair. I am passionate about the client experience and take exceptional pride in both the appearance of the salon and our team, but also the kind of products we use. We believe in keeping the products as clean as possible from unnecessary chemicals but yet still give your hair the best treatment it requires.

I love being part of innovative things in the industry and plan to continue the development of So You to consolidate its place as a leading salon in the Wellington area. 

I am a blonde specialist and precision cutter. I take pride in creating flawless blondes with manageable regrowth and simple maintenance plans. I am passionate about creating the most flattering custom colour for each of my clients to best embody their character, personality and style.
